(SOLD) - 1977 Carmichael Fire and rescue 6x6 Range Rover
OVERVIEW
1977 Carmichael Fire and rescue 6x6 Range Rover, First registered in 1977 for the Denbighshire & Montgomeryshire Joint Fire Service stationed at W1 Rhyl. It was used as a rescue tender and to tow the Incident Control Unit.

The vehicle was then sold to Rhone Poulenc in Norwich during the 1980’s.
In 2000, LW Vass Ltd carried out an extensive refurbishment and conversion to a crash rescue vehicle for Westland Helicopters in Western-Super-Mare.
In 2008 the vehicle was again completely refurbished (stripped to chassis) and modified for use as a motorsport MSA licenced Stage Safety Unit. The work was catalogued in over 150 photos that are still live on the six wheel appeal website.
The conversion included changing from 2 doors to 4 doors and the installation of a Discovery 1 dashboard and interior. The engine was replaced with a LR 300TDI with R380 Gearbox so now does over 25 MPG!
