The vehicle was then sold to Rhone Poulenc in Norwich during the 1980’s.
In 2000, LW Vass Ltd carried out an extensive refurbishment and conversion to a crash rescue vehicle for Westland Helicopters in Western-Super-Mare.
In 2008 the vehicle was again completely refurbished (stripped to chassis) and modified for use as a motorsport MSA licenced Stage Safety Unit. The work was catalogued in over 150 photos that are still live on the six wheel appeal website.
The conversion included changing from 2 doors to 4 doors and the installation of a Discovery 1 dashboard and interior. The engine was replaced with a LR 300TDI with R380 Gearbox so now does over 25 MPG!
